Wow! This place is a amazing! The food was incredible and the service was even better. We started with a bunch of appetizers and our two favorites were the mozzarella and fried Brussel sprouts. I ordered the Wyoming steak and shared the lasagne. The streak was cooked perfect and the lasagne was the right amount of cheesy. We had Zach as our waiter and he was fantastic. Offered his favorites and closely monitored our drinks and order of food delivery. Would definitely recommend this place!

This place is awesome. The food is tasty, with a large variety to please anyone that comes to dine. For my 6 yr old daughter they made her pizza custom (she's a huge picky eater). The wine list isn't your typical and they have a wonderful bar and mixologist. Our waiter was Zach, he's a doll. Kind and knowledgable about the menu and gave great suggestions on what to visit while we are here in town. It's not his first rodeo, if you ask for the desert menu he mouths that they don't have one in case you have kids. DOUBLE PLUS!!!! Stacey is the manager and you can tell she runs a tight ship. The staff work excellent together, and operate smoothly. It was such a pleasure to come here and experience this restaurant, the food and the please here.

Amazing food prepared by an inventive young chef, Eric Greenwood. From whimsical appetizers like Formaggio Al Forno and Pork Belly Ribs. The lasagna and chicken dishes were great hearty fare. And the wild boar tenderloin was to die for. Topped off by the gelato sandwich and our trip to Teton Village was complete!

The food was delicious and the staff were superb. We came down from our room without a reservation and the hostess was super nice and told me that they didn't have accomodations at the moment, btu we could grab a drink and that a table should be ready within 30min. we went ahead to the bar and ordered our drink (Matchmaker) was perfect!!! and our favorite during out vacation. She came within 20min and told us the table was ready. We were seated outside in a beautiful day and met our waiter who was just as nice as everyone else we encountered. The food was excellent!

Food was pretty good. The service was just okay. Beautiful space. I'd try again and hope to get a better/ experienced waiter!

I've never been here personally but I did get takeout pizzas from this restaurant, and they weren't that great. I've had frozen pizzas that were better. The crust was too thin and the flavor was simply not there. If you're going for pizza if recommend trying somewhere else.

Evidently, the geniuses at Yelp are not allowing my review to be part of the regular list. Instead, their stupid software has made all of my reviews, not recommended. I cannot say enough good about this place! My wife and I reserved a table for two for our anniversary and we were treated very special! The friendly staff made us feel right at home with prompt service and a willing spirit. Our meal was delicious, some of the best in Jackson Hole, and our dessert was amazing! Our tiramisu was modified to include a Sparkler that was just for our celebration. We felt so loved and will be back again!!

I was simply expecting better. Our first course was an appetizer naturally consisting of baked house pulled mozzarella & prosciutto with spicy tomato sauce. The sauce was runny/ watery, the prosciutto was slightly gamie. The sauce was not spicy and flavorless. Moving on, we were served a glass of house white wine that was ice cold. My wifes response was that because the wine was over chilled, it's qualities were not discernible. Moving on, the next course arrived. Fusilli: Duck ragu, crispy prosciutto and wild mushrooms. Sadly this too was flavorless. Not what I am used to having eaten in Italy. Authentic Italian food is simple but full of flavor. And finally we ordered a pizza to go. It was their Hawaii Five O. Pineapple, prosciutto cotto, pickled shallots, Calabrian peppers, fresh mozzarella, parmiggiano reggiano. This had flavor, however it was pure hot red peppers. We could not taste the other flavor's because of the heat. When we left we handed the valet our remaining boxed pizza and warned him of the heat. The staff was a delight however! It pains me to give this restaurant a 2 star. Their other restaurants of this ownership group hit on all cylinders. This one needs substantial over site and reworked attention to cooking detail.

House Pulled Fried Mozzarella - Outstanding with accompanied spicy sauce. Wild Arugula Salad - For some reason arugula never seems to fail me. Sweet Potato Gnocchi - Unbelievable, I could have eaten twice the amount that was served. The best dish of the night! Orcchiette - The fennel sausage sauce was delicious if not just north of a little too spicy. That being said the plate was wiped clean. Great handmade pasta. Dessert was pretty forgettable for me Chocolate Salami and Quince, probably should have stuck with the tiramisu. All things considered, a fantastic dinner. We skipped the meat course as we had eaten a pretty late lunch as we couldn't pull ourselves off the slopes. I would definitely dine here again.

3.5 really. I had the lamb shank which was a monster portion, probably the highlight of my meal. Also had the prosciutto appetizer and split the rabbit papparadelle. Everything was decent, though I didn't feel like a particular dish was a true standout. The vibe of the restaurant is very casual, not super elegant, but still comfortable. Finding our way to the restaurant once we reached the hotel proved a little tricky, we entered through the closest door to the rest of the village and there were no signs or people to point us in the right direction. I'd recommend allowing a little extra time to find your way.

I wanted to love this place, but it just didn't deliver. I had the butter lettuce salad and San Danielle pizza. The dressing on the salad was great, but the toppings on the salad were skimpy--only one piece of orange?!?!? The pizza had fig, prosciutto, arugula and cheese. While the flavor was good, it was VERY tough. My jaw and teeth were actually sore after eating. When I would bite into it, the toppings would slide off. I would rather the prosciutto was not cooked, but rather added after it was cooked. Would I return? Probably not.

Friends and I were staying at Hotel Terra for a guys weekend. The food overall was great. The service was sub par. We had an 8:15 reservation for 4 and were not seated till 8:45. Which was ok... We stood at the bar and had a drink. The real problem came when we ordered and from the start our waiter made us feel rushed along with a not so friendly demeanor. So my friend ordered a salad and a Salumi pizza. When our entrees arrived they brought him Salmon instead of his pizza. When the table runner delivered the Salmon he spoke up to say he didn't order the salmon and she then questioned him "ARE YOUR SURE?" Then disappearing for a few minutes our waiter arrived and did not apologize for the mix up and brought the salmon back to the table. Thank you, but no we didn't order the salmon we don't want it. He offered my friend a salad.. Maybe he forgot that we had salads already... Then he offered a side of Brussel sprouts. Seriously ? He did refill his glass of wine and then brought us what would be less than a taste when you open a bottle. It was a lame attempt to make things right and an apology was never given. Thanks for the glass of wine and the cheap attempt with less than a sip for the rest of us. We decided to cancel further reservations and ate at the four seasons instead. We understand people have bad days and make mistakes, own up to it and apologize properly. Oh and not even acknowledgement from a manager or host. Very disappointing.

Food was fine - service, maybe not so much. Had a reservation, we're not seated until 30 minutes later. We were told we could "get a drink in the bar" - but bartenders would not acknowledge our standing around looking at them obviously trying to get a drink. Never apologized for it or offered a comped glass of wine or whatever. Again, food good but service......

  • Luke B.

Rating mainly on service. Our waiter forgot all of our apps ( party of 6 ) even after asking for them about 20 minutes after ordering. Then our main courses came out 10 minutes after that and we got no explanation and actually we got avoided after that. Had to ask other waiters for refills ect. Dinner was not bad but service ruined the meal. Maybe you will have better luck

Place is busy! Fancy, classy, and good food. Be prepared to acknowledge that there is a significant cost associated with this. It may be explicit up front, but $50 per person sounds about right here. This place is located in Teton Village, or in short for the people who come up to Wyoming to go to yellowstone: Nowhere near yellowstone, but not far from Jackson. In fact it's west of Jackson - so not that far of a drive if you are able to get to Jackson in the first place. It's very touristy, and a must to go at night. Why? Well, it turns out the mountains don't block your view much and there happens to be a golf course nearby, so you can go stargazing after the meal for a beautiful unobscured view of the night sky - at least to me it was a nice touch to end my meal. Meanwhile, I must say that they uniquely have a little bit of a taste of Spain in their olive appetizer (which I love), and the food is fairly veg friendly. The olive appetizer which I must mention, came straight from the stove so to speak. The oil the olives were cooked in was still bubbling when the plate was brought to the table, and had an awesome variety. I also ordered the cheese/potato cake thing which was very interesting. I don't even know how to describe it that well, but it's worth a taste. I had the Gnocchi, which was well cooked and very tasty if not tasteful as well - although slightly small on portions in comparison to the spaghetti wifey ordered. All in all it was a nice meal - all I can stress is that it's very critical to reserve a table in advance if they're busy. When we got in, we were sat in 20mins (reservation) while another person was told 1-3 hours. Wine choices are a bit restricted and pricey, and service was good. This is worth a shot for an actual nice, fairly fancy meal.

Fantastic food!! So funny, we were staying at Hotel Terra, and my hubby made a reservation here b/4 we arrived. I was thinking , " I don't want to eat at the hotel! " it turns out this place is so good, we had 3 of our 7 dinners in Jackson there. Great! great ! great!, Had pizza, had pasta, had salads, had fish. I feel like we had it all, and I would still go back!!! Terrific .! Get a reservation ASAP!

Probably one of the best restaurants in Teton Village. Tried a bunch of the different pastas. My favorites being the Pappardelle w/ rabbit and the squid ink linguini and clams. The Pappardelle was fresh and tasty. For apps.. the octopus was really good, very very tender, good flavor. Also had the orecchiette pasta, spicy and very flavorful... but a little rich / greasy. The only thing I didn't like were the pizzas. Could use a better crust.. maybe something thinner. The nice thing about this place is you can order the food and have it served in the lobby of the hotel. So you can sit by the fire place and enjoy your meal / class of wine.

Had dinner here on our first night of vacation. The chop salad was really yummy and the pappardelle w rabbit was perfectly done. The swordfish was a bit spicier than seemed appropriate. I love really spicy food but it just didn't seem to fit w the fish. The panna cotta was light and delicious.

Very good Italian food. I thought the pasta was a bit oily but overall it was a classy place for a group dinner or dinner date. Good service.

Visiting with a large group, I was left feeling "meh". They sat our large group of 14 at a small table next to the pizza oven. Not only were we cramped at the table, it. was. hot. Like really hot. Uncomfortably hot. The rest of the restaurant looked comfortable. Wish we were there. I had the duck which was pretty good but the rest of the dish was utterly bland. Boring, even. My husband found a hair in his salad (GROSS!) and had 3 bones in his rabbit pasta (YIKES). I tried the bolognese from someone else at the table, which was pretty good. I guess we would have been better off with the pizza. Bottom line? It's ok. But not great. Surely, not authentic Italian.

I gave this place 2 stars only due to the incredible staff. The food is terrible. This is not Italian food. My red sauce had zero flavor. My sauce tasted like tomato juice and my boyfriends lasagna tasted like it came out of a box. It is very over priced for the LOW QUALITY. Olive Garden has more flavor. I'd advise bar food or a deli over this. There is no way the chef is Italian.

While there's no official kids menu, they'll do just about any kids version of pasta or pizza, ie plain noodles or cheese pizza. Our kids opted for buttered noodles with the housemade fennel sausage. Be prepared to pay $10 for a bowl of buttered noodles, plus a couple of extra bucks for the meat. For dessert, try the chocolate salami - a fun chocolate roll with pistachios, shaped into a log and dusted in powdered sugar. It's served with cinnamon sugar crisps and a cranberry jelly. The kids gave it two-thumbs-up.

We have eaten at the Osteria many times over the last few years and have always enjoyed this spot for a nice date night. However, our most recent visit left much to be desired. The prices have increased and the portions have decreased. We're not necessarily looking for a deal but I don't think it's reasonable to charge $28 for five bites of a pasta entree. Literally the one person in our party who ordered the elk ragu was finished with his meal 10 minutes before everyone else because the portion was so minuscule. The service was also a bit slow. We just expect a better overall experience from the Osteria and tonight did not deliver.

Our first time here and we really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the pizza over was down and no one mentioned that when we arrived that evening as we had two boys that were anxious to try the pizza. That said, we found other delicious items to try and the night went well. The waiter - Michael?- was excellent and made us feel welcome. He was very helpful and knowledgeable regarding the menu and wine list. This won't be our last visit to Osteria.

I give the cozy ambiance five stars and the food and service four stars. My boyfriend and I dinned here for dinner after a long day on the slopes. He ordered the roasted chicken and I ordered the shepherd's pie. My shepherd's pie was large enough for the two of us and was very well prepared with a variety of game meats. The chicken on the was somewhat of a disappointment. It was dry and resembled cornish hen, more than chicken. The polenta (or risotto?) that it was served with was flavorless and the greens could have used a little more blanching. We probably shouldn't have ordered the roasted chicken at the Italian restaurant. However, I would absolutely go again and try the lamb shank (big enough to feed four people) and the pizza as well as any of the mouth watering pasta dishes.

Went here while on our family reunion trip of the year. We weren't really hungry but my brother and father got food. We had the bread and shared a salad. then I saw the lasagna my brother got it was amazing. He let me try it and it seriously is one of the best most cheesey things on the planet. It was so very good. I honestly would go back there just for the lasagna.

This is in Hotel Terra where we stayed, I would like to make it clear that this is not a hotel restaurant, so it is very good. It is warm and cozy and comforting especially after being out in the snow all day freezing and hurting. Yummers! We got pizza and lasagna and it was yummy.

We tried this restaurant on a recent trip to Jackson Hole, and most specifically for the Grand Teton Music Festival. The restaurant is located in the Hotel Terra and also has an outside patio. My husband and I split a salad, entrée, and ordered a couple of desserts. The salad was butter lettuce with goat cheese, candied pecans, oranges, and a mild vinaigrette. We split the lobster and pea risotto which was excellent. My only complaint was that the lobster was a bit overcooked and dry, but the risotto was very creamy with a light citrus touch. Dessert was a semi-freddo, and panna cotta. Both delicious! Good service and good food. Would definitely recommend as a dining choice in Teton Village!

Afraid my experience was not good. The waiter was capable and attentive but it was so loud we were unable to have any conversation without yelling. We ended up not eating our entree as the pasta was chewy and the sweet and sour meat was unusual and tasted like sauerbraten .

Great place! I'm surprised people don't write about this more. I was staying in Teton Village and walked over here. Had a hard time finding it, but once I came in it was a scene! Waiters running around, full room, very lively. I tried the Quattro Stagioni pizza, the steamed P.E.I. mussels and the chicken meatballs. The mussels were light and fresh. Great dish! The pizza was also pretty amazing! I got it with no meat and I couldn't stop eating it. Probably was not a good idea to order more food. The side of chicken meatballs were a bit to heavy considering they were chicken. The service was very slow. Our original waitress vanished and we suddenly were being helped by another one. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant especially for the pizzas!

Probably the best meal we had on our two week vacation was at Il Villaggio Osteria. We happened to be in the area doing some sight seeing and it was near dinner time. Looked for a nearby restaurant and settled on this one having no idea what to expect. We arrived and the service was friendly and got us seated right away in the patio dining area. We perused the menu and there were some very interesting flavor combinations that caught our attention - things outside of the normal dishes we might see on an Italian restaurant menu. One of those dishes was the watermelon and pork belly salad. Wow, we did not expect the flavors to mesh with that dish but we could not stop fighting over it. Even my son, who is not an adventurous eater, loved it too. The kitchen even split the salad for us, even without us asking. That showed the waiter was listening! Entrees were very generously portioned. Again, maybe being out-of-towners, we are just used to high price equating to small portions but in this case we certainly felt we got equal value of food to price. Overall, an excellent meal and certainly one of the best on our vacation. Would return in a heartbeat if we are ever back in the area.

A good introduction to our trip here in Wyoming. The service was accommodating to our needs as we wanted to move outside halfway through the meal. The portion size is good and my spring pea gnocchi dish was fantastic. Don't get your hopes up for the bread though, it was doughy and nothing special unlike other Italian restaurants. Make sure you dress up a bit, it deserved better than my sweatpants.

Great Ambiance. That is the ONLY reason they got two starts. Every thing else I had was yuk yuk yuk! I had Lobster Rossotto. The only thing good about this rossotto was it was cooked all the way through. There was so much lemon in it that it literally was unbearable to eat. The peas were hard.......... peas.......... out of all things! How can you not cook peas all the way through? Needless to say for the price I was not impressed AT ALL. For Jackson Hole it was a total let down!

WOW! Came here during our ski trip to Jackson Hole. Turns out they were fully booked and we had no reservation, so we had to sit at the pizza bar. Not sure if this was a good idea or a bad one, but watching them make the pizza, just about made me drool! The menu is upscale Italian, with prices to match. The service was great. We started with a radicchio and endive salad, and a bowl of (the only special that night) tomato fennel soup. This was a nice, light start to what proved to be a superb meal. I had the pan roasted skate over lobster/tarragon mashed potatoes. My dad had the foie gras ravioli. Everything was incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked with wonderfully paired flavors. Unfortunately, we didn't leave enough room for desert, but we hope to correct that on our next visit.

reviews and recommendations brought us here ... the night started out good with a drink at the bar and friendly chat from the bartender about the wine list. But that was as good as it got. Poor service, or lack thereof! ... our waitress took our order and poured the first glass of wine, then disappeared until it was time to sign off on the bill. She seemed more focused on drinking cocktails and chatting with other staff behind the bar. Also, the time between meals was lengthy, as was the time to clear plates, and I had to go to the bar to get the check at the end and we were the ones topping up our wine glasses. Substandard food ... ordered the lamb shank as wanted a hearty meal after a big day on the slopes and it came out dry, deep fried (overly so, almost burnt!). Starter of baby octopus was so so ... Nothing to write home about. So poor service and substandard food at a semi exy eatery = a very disappointing experience ... maybe we just lucked out?

Went here against my will as I did not expect quality Italian in Wyoming. I was very pleasantly surprised. They had a respectable wine list, an impressive collection of beers, and the food was wonderful. We got the buffalo ragu and the salumi pizza and both were excellent. The pandora station they had on played several songs that I love too. Highly recommend.

Keeps getting better. I've been to Osteria a half dozen times in half as many years and am in love with it. I've brought a variety of people and they all feel the same. Great pizza, pastas and seafood. Go with whatever's new and recommended. It will not disappoint. On my most recent trip, i was blown away by a truffle ravioli, pork shank, and provolone sausage Reservations are recommended...try a week or so in advance.

I spent 4 days in Teton Village and ate at Osteria 3 times. Everything I had was incredible. Tried 3-4 different types of their pizza, some of the best thin crust I have ever eaten and I've spent lots of time in New York and Italy. Also tried the chicken parm, lasagna, and spaghetti. Good selection of wine and beers and they have a great happy hour special on beers apres ski. Dinners can get crowded so we ate at Osteria during the lunch break from skiing.

Il Villagio Osteria reinforces the truism that there's always good food to be found at any destination ski area. Located in the scenic Jackson Hole ski resort, this place checks all the marks for an upscale chi chi ski hill eatery. Modern clean decor, semi-open kitchen with eating bar, small but bustling bar, glass-wood-metal furnishings, lively and just a tad loud ambiance. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and our waiter seemed to truly enjoy talking to us about the food. When we were debating about appetizers, he didn't just make a simple recommendation (this one or that one), he offered up his recommendations with details about ingredients and preparation. I don't remember all the details but I do remember how he remarked that he really liked a particular dish because of the fennel and cardoman. I also remember having a discussion about lardo and its use in the preparation of a dish. Sheesh! When you remember bits of a conversation with a waiter about food months later it must mean something! Anyway, his recommendations - Butter Poached Manilla Clams and Fried Lardo Gnocci - were both delicious, as was the Fergola Sarda & Arugula salad. While we were talking about the clams appetizer, I suddenly developed a hankering for some spaghetti with clams or mussels, but there wasn't such a dish on the menu. Just as I was resigned to picking from the offerings listed, a waitress brought a big plate of spaghetti with clams to a nearby table. Wide eyed, I asked our waiter what that dish was and where was it on the menu. He replied that it wasn't on the menu but the gentleman had asked for it and the chef was happy to comply. Needless to say, I dined on a fine spaghetti and clams that evening. My companions both had the risotto, which they also pronounced as top 5. Maybe it's the vacation setting, or simply the cliche that food always tastes better after a day in the mountains, but Osteria gets my highest rating.

My 4th time here. I am a food snob. I want it fresh, fabulous and unique. Doesn't have to break the bank, but i like my taste buds to be awoken. Osteria always surprised me with their unique menu, great service and excellent cocktails. My favorite place in Jackson Hole.

We had a great time dining here....was a quick and easy walk from the Four Seasons....food was great, nice wine list, friendly staff. Food was great from our meat lovers, to vegetarians....

Just had an amazing meal! This was our first trip to Jackson Hole so we've been relying on this web site to steer us to good restaurants. The food at Osteria is outstanding - on par with the best Italian food in San Francisco or Georgetown. The staff was very friendly... kudos to Zach for his service and terrific tips on local attractions. We had the buffalo ravioli (amazing) and the steamed mussels (doubly amazing). The ambience is awesome and we can't wait to return for another meal!!

Best meal in Teton Village, pretty much hands down. Pretty much everything about Osteria was awesome, except perhaps the wait and strategic positioning to get a table. Fun atmosphere, fantastically cooked pasta / pizza / apps, and a friendly wait staff. There is a reason this is the most crowded place in the village. It's somewhat expensive, but completely worth it. The bar area is also a cool place to sit and watch the action happen.

Excellent modern Italian food! My meal started with the fried brussel sprouts and a salad. The brussel sprouts were probably the highlight of the meal. For all of you out there that hate brussel sprouts, I dare you to try these. You will be surprised. I followed that up with the butternut squash risotto. The risotto was perfectly cooked and a sweet/savory balance was so appealing I had to eat every bite. After the great meal, I figured the dessert there would not disappoint. The bread pudding was superb. It was served warm with ice cream and a caramel drizzle. My dinner dates had the lasagna, pizza, and a few other salads and they seemed pleased with their selections as well. This place is a bit on the pricey side, but not unreasonable for the food you are getting. A dinner for 3 with a round of drinks and 2-3 courses each came to $160. I've done more damage for far less delicious food. The ambiance is also nice - upscale/modern but casual. Definitely make a reservation, as this place is always busy.

This place is good. Not great. The pizzas are tasty, but nothing outstanding (but expensive - about $20 for one 12" personal pizza). The pasta is good and homemade too, but also not outstanding. When we went they were absolutely swamped with people and were struggling to maintain their composure (which was sort of understandable considering it was a very busy night). The one really cool part of the restaurant is that the pizza kitchen/brick oven is out in the open visible for everyone to see (which I love). If you are looking for a moderately fancy restaurant in Teton Village this is a good option, but is not incredible.

The pizzas at Il Villaggio Osteria are not to be missed when staying in the Village. Restaurants was very busy, but had our reservation and table available when we arrived - the place was absolutely packed so suggest getting a reservation in advance. Service was good as was the other food ordered, but really the highlight here is the pizzas, very inventive and delicious - - highly suggest trying the "Get Shorty." Definitely one of the best dining options in Teton Village - only side note is that there are definitely LOTS of kids there so noise/activity level of your surroundings is really high - just don't expect a quiet italian place. Regardless, will definitely be back!

When I first met Hubby, he refused to eat anything green - he'd even pick out the green parsley flakes on top of his spaghetti. After many years of intense training, I've managed to get him to at least eat a couple bites of broccoli when it's on his plate. Never mind that he chugs a glass of water with each bite - at least he swallows it. Enter Osteria...I ordered their fried brussel sprouts with pomegranate as a side dish, thinking that I'd probably be eating most, if not all of it. Damn if Hubby didn't inhale his serving, and go back for seconds! No bacon or cheese or other distractions to mask the vegetableness of the brussel sprouts - but they were frickin delicious. Believe me, if Hubby went back for seconds, they were pretty awesome. Oh, and their pastas were pretty good too. Definitely one of our favorite meals in Jackson. If you don't have reservations, get there before 6 and grab a seat at the bar. It's a popular place and for good reason!

Excellent food with good service make this a great Italian restaurant in Teton Village. We ate here and did take-out, and both worked out great. The Fried Artichoke Hearts were delicious, served with a little lemon to add more flavor. Grandma's Meatballs were good and came with a great marinara sauce. The Buffalo Tenderloin Bruschetta was really good, the balsamic was tasty with the meat. The Trout special they had was great, good quality fish and cooked well with a nice crust. The Gnocchi with sun dried tomatoes was quite good, lots of flavor and a solid portion. The Wild Boar Ravioli was amazing and my favorite dish, the sauce was so good and the raviolis were excellent. The Quattro Stagioni Pizza with artichoke hearts among other toppings was very good, the crust was definitely the highlight. Definitely a pricey place, but a nice atmosphere, especially if you can get a seat within sight of the pizza oven. Reservations highly recommended, this place can get packed with people, even during non-peak and on weekdays. One of my favorite restaurants from my trip to Jackson Hole.

We'll start with one of the best places in the village, and in the Jackson area - Osteria. It serves delicious pizza, home made pasta and great desserts. I had the good fortune to dine at Osteria twice - my first night with all the guys and the following Saturday with my sister Alyssa and cousin Karla. The guys meal started with a basic cheese pizza for the table that didn't last very long. The pizza is excellent. Phil and I split a salad and pasta for dinner. The salad wasn't my favorite, with an interesting combination of lettuce, avocado, walnuts, cheese and lime dressing. Our baked pasta dish was very tasty, as were most of the pastas on the menu. I tried Jed's gnocchi and thought it was not nearly as good as my pasta. Our Saturday night dinner was simpler, with the three of us grabbing seats at the bar to have a bottle of wine, a few brussel sprouts (excellent starter) and a few main dishes. I was in a pasta mood (after all that skiing..) and had eyed the fusilli from my previous visit. It came with house made provolone sausage, crushed chilis, broccoli rabe and piquillo peppers. Delicious. Finally, to end the meal we ordered the bread pudding - not once, but twice. It's that good. Sometime self restraint goes out the window and on both occasions the bread pudding was worth it. A great way to end a nice, simple, well cooked Italian dinner. Next time you are in the Jackson, WY area, Osteria should be on your list (you might here me say that lot this week...)

My husband and I were recommended this place by other visitors and were glad they told us to make a reservation. We called ahead for a reservation (first one was two hours out) and we arrived a little early. We were seated almost 30min past our reservation time. We understand you can't kick people out from their table, but we were starting to get frustrated, esp. since we hadn't been acknowledged at all. We were seated, and the waitress apologized for the wait and got our drink order. Before she came back with the drinks we had a complimentary appetizer brought to our table. The food is a little pricy, and although you can dress casual I would recommend doing semi-casual. The food is really good; and the service, although we waited, was phenomenal. We had constant refills before our cups were emptied and it was busy! The waitress/staff went above and beyond and I would highly recommend this place for the staff and the food. oh.. and get the Tiramisu. I don't even like tiramisu and it was melt-in-your-mouth amazing.

Great place to eat if you are staying in Teton Village. The staff was very accommodating for my party of 10 on short notice. The gnocchi was good, but I think I will try the pizza or mussels next time.

I'm a bit torn on Osteria. Some of my friends love it. In fact, friends who recently visited ate here daily during their visit. With that said, my expectations may be too high, because I'm never as impressed as I'd like to be with the overall experience. What I really like is the food quality of the boutique style pizza, pastas, secondi and salads, which for the most part are really nice and flavorful. Osteria is a bright, fine(r) dining option right in Teton Village where the ski resort is. It's in gorgeous, hip Hotel Terra and one of the only non-western or Austrian kitchy dining options at the resort. The restaurant bases its menu on restaurants like Batali's Lupa in NYC. It's a fantastic hotel restaurant. What I'm baffled by is that somehow our tab at dinner ends up close to $100/person every time we go with a group of four, which is tough to swallow because while the food is interesting and well made, it never feels in service, atmosphere or food/wine like it's worth quite that much. Even when the BF and I stop in to share a relatively small 12" pizza and a lower end bottle of wine at the bar we end up dropping $60. A high point is the new lunch/apres ski menu with reasonably priced, more casual options and beer specials. At apres the 8" sopressata pizza and $3 Peronis are great, but the orecchiette lunch dish is really bland. The service is just OK, especially in comparison to the restaurant group that runs Osteria's other restaurants, SRG and the Bistro. At a recent dinner, the sage pork was very moist. One friend liked the veal. My pasta special in a pink sauce with shrimp was just OK. If you are staying in the village, definitely give Osteria a try for a lunch or dinner. Compared to other tourist traps, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I just ate here for dinner twice recently, during my long and wonderful stay in Teton Village. I would highly recommend Osteria. The food was very good, all in my party agreed. One surprisingly delicious suggestion is the Brussels sprouts - wonderful! The pizza was great - handmade to order; my dad ordered the rigotonici twice and was in heaven. The only negative thing I have to say would be that my veal saltimboca was not very good at all - for one of the most expensive items on the menu I would have expected more. We had to wait 30 minutes past our 8:15 reservation, but the management was very apologetic and remedied the situation with a complimentary appetizer. Be sure, no matter what day or time, to make a reservation here!!

We had an excellent dinner here while on vacation last week. We called in for a reservation for 6 and lucky we did. It was packed. Unfortunately, even with a reservation we waited about 20 min. for a table (and that was on a Tuesday night!) Once we were finally seated and our food arrived we were all very happy. I ordered the wild arugula salad with lemon, parmesan and balsamic dressing. It was really light and had a great flavor. For dinner I ordered the homemade gnocchi with wild mushrooms and black truffle marscapone - YUM YUM YUM. I love gnocchi to begin with and this was delicious. It was cooked longer than some restaurants and so it wasn't as firm but I really liked it. When you're staying in Teton Village this is a great place to eat, just be sure to make a reservation first!

My wife drags me here on a regular basis, but each time I go I eat something really good. The staff is very nice and take good care of you. Always try open seating at the bar if you are caught without a res.

Excellent food and service. The house salad is a simple and very tasty arugula. Lasagna best I've ever tasted.

Of all the restaurants in the village, Osteria is by far the best. We've had the pizza. It's thin crust and excellent. My husband had the lasagna and Tuscan Kale Caesar. I've never seen him eat raw kale before so that's a testament to the dressing, croutons and baked parmesan crisps. He had enough lasagna for another meal. I had the Lobster Saffron Risotto. I've never had better lobster and it was phenomenal. I also had the Seared Scallops which were so, so good. I can't express it. For a different lunch, I had a meal that was composed by the chef by request. I asked for a vegetarian pasta and what he made had mushrooms, roasted garlic, baby tomatoes, basil, scallions, tiny beans and a bit of artichoke with a creamy marinara alfredo. This was made within 15 minutes!?! It was crazy good. I could hug the chef.

Food was pretty good and unique. Had the stuffed olive, butternut squash risotto, and lasagna. Would give it 4 however we came in for 8pm reservation and had to wait still when there were visibly open tables for 20 mins. Also it was well overpriced. I understand resort prices but it is a bit absurd to pay 15 dollars for house cabernet that was mediocre at best. I give 4 stars for the food but there is more polite service and better prices out there for comparable cuisine in JH.

Fabulous Italian. Truly authentic. We went here once when on a visit to Jackson Hole and returned for lunch, dinner for the next 3 days! the restaurant is part of the Terra boutique hotel. Highly recommend.

While a bit cramped and noisy, the service and food is a hit. Great salumi pizza an wild mushroom bruschetta. Desert they said they had homemade ice cream but it's more gelato consistency than ice cream. That's a plus is my book anyways.

Good food choices but some big disappointments on some important things. There were 8 in our party and though some of the food was really good, several dishes were just okay. The prices did not match the flavor. The biggest let down, though, that will make us not return is how the waitress handled the bill that our large party paid for with multiple cards. Apparently, the restaurant or the bank will not allow you to run your card twice so, either the hostess or the waitress accidentally ran our card the first time for the wrong amount, cancelled it and then tried it again. When it didn't go through, she came back to our table and instead of telling us what happened and that is was a problem on their side, she made it appear as though are card was declined. This was rather humiliating in front of our whole table of people. I looked up my bank on my phone immediately and saw her transaction for almost double the amount and asked her about it. Then, I was told what happened. A little too late to spare the previous embarrassment. To save your reputation as a waitress or the hostess reputation who made the mistake versus a customers, a big mistake in my book.

Sat on the patio and had a great meal with perfect service. The patio was very kid friendly (at the 5pm dinner hour). Park right there kids can play in while you eat. Likes it so much we are going back again on our last night in Teton.

Went in to have a Birthday dinner tonight with my wife and two kids. We did not have reservations so they said we could wait for an hour or grab a place at the pizza bar when this group left in the next 15 minutes. So two young ladies walk in 5-7 minutes after us and a waitress grabs them to sit at the end of the bar. Then after my 11 year old daughter and I have been waiting for 20-25 minutes three punk kids walk up saying they want pizza and are seated right there and then in the dinning room. We were so upset we just walked out with my daughter crying because she was so hungry. We were dressed well and believe me our money is good.

I've had an excellent variety of food here, gnocchi, pork chops, etc. The food has been great, the staff is very helpful and attentive. The wine list has many hidden gems. try the cheese platter and the rock shrimp appetizer...you won't be dissappointed

Food good, service poor. Family with children took LONG time to order, longer for food. When the bill came I knew why: 20 percent service included. Pizza very good.

Who would think we would need reservations on a Monday night when it is 5 degrees outside? Well, here in this gnarly ski town reservations are recommened to get into Osteria. We had to wait an hour for a table, so to kill time we walked to the Four Seasons lounge for a glass of wine before walking back over to Osteria...and it was very much worth the wait. We had the warmed olives and chopped salad as appetizers (excellent) followed by the Wild Boar, Rigatonacci (SP?) and gnocci entrees. Our waitress recommended a mildy spicy little Italian red to go with all of them, and we scarfed it all down. We were so stuffed, we couldn't order dessert, a major disappointment. But what a memorable night at a cozy, friendly place!

We stayed right in this hotel during our visit. So, it was a nice treat to have Osteria right off of the lobby. We stopped in for lunch and dinner. traditional and excellent Italian food. Fresh, light and creative pastas, mains and pizza. Typically we split a salad or app and followed with one of their great pizzas. Food, service, and vibe are all great.

This is simply a delicious upscale Italian restaurant located in the eco-boutique Hotel Terra. The decor flows nicely with the modern, minimalist hotel, yet at the same time, blends with the gorgeous natural views outside the windows. Even though our service was a one point non-existent, once a server realized our table "got lost in the crowds", she was quick on the ball and thoroughly attentive from that point on. The wood-oven fired pizzas are reminiscent of those found in Naples, the pasta and house-made sausage were fresh and flavorful, and the salumi plates were delectable. I was only sad that we were all too full share a dessert.

Grilled Sicilian gnocchi was great. Nice place...the service was great...they were there, but not like every freaking second...I took a couple of bites from everyone's plate...not disappointed with anything that the table ordered.

We spent four nights at the hotel just up the hill from Hotel Terra (Teton Mountain Lodge) and passed Osteria several times on our way to the Mangy Moose or other spots in the Village. On the last night, we finally ate there. I'm so glad that we made it in. This was probably my favorite meal of the entire vacation, including 5-course gourmet meals at Jenny Lake Lodge. DH and I started with the fried olives stuff with homemade sausage. Definitely get this! The tomato sauce served with the olives was amazing. Instead of heavy main courses, I had wild mushroom risotto - the second-best I've ever had - and DH had the raviolio, which sort of reminded me of a super-big version of the "egg" ravioli that everyone raves about at Schwa here in Chicago. It was outstanding. Several nights' observation taught us to snag the best table: a fireside outdoor table. It was getting dark - and cold - by the time we got our main courses, so the fire was key to sitting outside. Inside was noisy chaos, but outside under the stars, by the fire was peaceful and romantic. I would have eaten there every night - skipped the dingy Mangy Moose, but for a drink - if I had known it was going to be this good!

Osteria is by far the best restaurant in the Jackson Hole area. Great service and food. The manager, Stacy, was fantastic, and took care of our every need. The salads and pizza are always a hit, but on our last visit we tried the pork chop and it was out of this world! Thier desserts are fun and creative as well. We had a carrot cake dessert this time that was delicious. In the winter try their hot chocolate for adults - so yummy. Can't wait to visit again!

Who knew that a good Italian restaurant was hiding away in Teton Village, right near our hotel? My husband and I ate here our first night of vacation after a VERY long day of travel from the east coast. The ambiance was warm and inviting, the service staff friendly, and the food delicious. Really, what more can you ask for? We started off with the bitter greens salad. Admittedly my husband liked it better than I but it wasn't bad at all. I had the gnocchi which was very tender and light, had a nice, tangy sauce, and came packed with interesting veggies. My husband had the cannelloni which tasted very fresh and was true comfort food. While both of our meals were delicious, I'm a bit biased toward mine. ;-) We left full and happy, ready to collapse into a food coma.

Osteria is excellent. The food is incredibly good, and the atmosphere is quite cozy. The server I had was quite attentive, and in general I felt a really warm vibe. I highly recommend this place. I sampled a bunch of stuff since I was in a large group. The steak was out of control good, as were the Prociutto and Fontina Fritters and Endive salad. Oh yeah, and the tiramisu is the real deal.

I had dinner at Osteria a couple of nights ago. I had the fried brussel sprouts with pomegranate and the gnocchi with wild mushrooms. I also tried my dining partner's pizza. - Brussel sprouts - nice fried leaves. Pomegranate added a nice sweetness to the dish. Very generous serving - I had it as my starter. - Gnocchi - nicely made. Soft, not chewy. Good cream sauce. Not the best I've ever had...but very good. - Pizza - nice, chewy crust. Good toppings. - Bread (starter) -- only okay. Would be better if they served focaccia. Atmosphere was very nice. There was a bar near the pizza oven where lots of folks were watching the Olympics. Service was good. I would recommend making reservations. We called at about 6 pm and got reservations for 8:45 pm.

Overrated. Went twice while in Jackson. Food the first time (risotto and orecchietti) was good. Second time we went (pork and bucatini) were far from outstanding. To be fair, wait staff was great both times, but hosts and the fact the restaurant is often closed for private events are annoying. This place has an attitude, and it can verge on making customers unwelcome. We checked in for our reservation and were ignored for 10 min while host staff socialized with others. Teton Village just needs another good Italian restaurant to put Osteria in it's place - which is an average, high concept, Italian restaurant with attitude.

I was suprised. This was a trendy place with yummy food...in the middle of Wyoming. LOL. We ordered a bottle of wine, shared the prosciutto pizza , a salad and ate 2 decdent pieces of chocolate yumminess. I read the reviews before I flew out there, and agree...go for the pizza. Its yummy!

This is an excellent Italian restaurant wit good standard dishes and innovative new tastes. Salads are good and we loved (believe it or not) the stuffed, roasted olive appetizer. Three meat ball small plate was the only "so so" dish. Be sure to get a reservation because the waiting level in the hall is unacceptable.

First of all, this is an authentically Italian osteria, not a chicken or veal parm mom and pop restaurant (no disrespect intended, but they're two totally different things - just trying to differentiate). Second - this is a two part review - because we went here for lunch (just a bunch of us girls) and then loved it so much we came back for dinner as the whole group (6 total). Lunch - no reservation needed, place empty because it was the best skiing day of the year but I was too scared to try the powder. Seated right away, near a woman who was DEFINITELY enjoying her steamed mussels (smelled amazing, looked even better, tasted - see dinner below). We didn't want to overdo it, so between the three of us, two ordered their Tuscan bean soup, split an Italian tuna panini, and got a quattro stagione pizza (most of which went home). -Soup - very creamy, though still textured for a wonderful mouthfeel, topped with fried scallions. Mmm. Mmm. Good! -Italian Tuna Panini - more than enough for two people with soup. Italian canned tuna is different than American, but not hugely so. This is not a tuna salad sandwich by any means. Very tasty, with a couple of roasted grape tomatoes in the mix. -Quattro Stagione Pizza - with prosciutto, basil, artichoke hearts, grape tomatoes, baby bellas and other veggies - gobbled up by 3 very picky eaters in a second (even reheated in the oven), while the girls at the restaurant got the first fresh bites. Wow! -Service - our waiter was refreshingly witty and fun. When we commented on the tasty olive oil and bread, he told us the oil is from a box and bread is from the oven. (I think they bake it right there). Recommended some good wines to go with the lunch and was right on the money. Dinner-Reservation is a must have. We had an 8:30 and still had to wait for 20 minutes because the party in our table got there late themselves. While I appreciate that the restaurant wouldn't bully their customers out of their chairs (having been in that position myself), I would have appreciated a little more follow up than "you'll be seated in a few minutes," then another 15 minute wait. Plus - they felt really guilty and comped us the corkage fee. I think this may work out once they're in business a bit more (they only opened in February 08). It was 6 of us for dinner and everyone (even my picky husband) enjoyed ourselves. Apps-Mozzarella in speck, steamed mussels (I was definitely having PDAs with the mussels - that good!), steamed calamari, and steamed rock shrimp. All of the above were amazing, but we really wished for more bread to dip in the sauces from the steamed dishes. As it was, the bus boy kept dropping off trays of bread and it went QUICK! Pizzas - Instead of ordering entrees, we ordered 4 pizzas to share. Each would make three people very happy (12" pizzas in 8 slices). Pizza Bianco was my favorite with 4 different cheeses and thyme. Meatball Pizza was delicious - meatballs tasted smoked which is definitely not the norm. Goat Cheese and Roasted Leek mixed two very different flavors and my picky husband (yes that one) loved it. Last of all -Quattro Stagione - still amazing, though someone actually made a comment that it may have been better reheated since the flavors melded better, plus lunch version seemed to have less basil chiffonade. Everyone went home happy and full, with about a full pizza's worth of leftovers. Dessert- Panna cotta, with a pomegranate reduction sauce, Tiramisu - finally not overly soaked or too dry -mmm... and pear strudel - recommended by our very cool waiter who was right on the money. These got thumbs of approval from all over. Dinner for 6 came out to $165 roughly (no drinks) Overall - awesome food any time of day or night. Need reservations for dinner definitely. Steep corkage fee ($20/bottle), but wine list is very extensive and not too up there in price. Could have done better on the seating at dinner but we forgot about being cranky once we got our food - very quickly after ordering.

A very impressive restaurant at the Hotel Terra in Teton Village. I find that higher end resort food typically leans towards emulating steak houses. Osteria, on the other hand is a very good Italian restaurant, with several dishes that lean towards new American. Our table of four ordered a variety of appetizers to share and nearly all were excellent. Ingredients were very fresh and innovative. The other members of my party each had a pizza and were all extremely satisfied. I'm not sure if Osteria has a wood-fire oven, but the crust appeared very similar to excellent pizzas I've had at wood-fire oven pizza restaurants in the past. Beyond that, the staff was very courteous, and the space is very contemporary, yet still comfortable. I think the best part of Osteria, is that being in a resort, there is already a built in audience and there isn't really the need to strive for excellence like you find in other places like cities. In spite of this, Osteria is obviously committed to providing an excellent fine dining experience. I can't recommend it enough to anyone visiting Teton Village.

Ate two dinners from Osteria recently. One dine in, and another pizza and a salad to go. Nice bar, very pleasant setting, and good service. Had the same salad both times, the balsamic strawberries with aruglua - excellent! The dine-in entrees were just ok: the chicken breast with ferro cake was dry. The roasted cauliflower pizza, meatball appetizer, and chocolate torte dessert were very good.

Despite the Teton Village premium pricing, I was quite impressed with the food and found the ambiance quite agreeable. Similar to the last reviewer, I too had the wild mushroom risotto and found it thoroughly enjoyable. Others in my party also really liked their meals. While it definitely has a trendy feel to it, there were enough older children there that I know I'll feel comfortable taking my kids for pizza the next time I'm in the mood for pizza-night with the family. Its a bit spendy to make it a staple, but if you're in the mood for good italian and are visiting town, I would definitely recommend it.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
